History of the establishment and development
In 2003, the Chrysalis media group sold its TV assets to the representatives of the media sphere Steve Morrison, David Liddiment and Jules Burns for £45 million. Using the new acquisition, they founded All3Media Limited, headquartered in London, to further develop TV production. They set the goal of taking a leading position among multimedia players in the production and distribution of audio-visual products.
To expand its operations, the company acquired Lion TV in 2004 and Mersey Television in 2005. Celebrating its 10th acquisition, All3Media Limited finally entered the international market purchasing German media producer MME Moviement in 2007. In the same year, the company bought Maverick Television and Objective Productions. In 2008, the management acquired American media producer Zoo Productions, gaining a foothold in the US market.
All3Media Limited didn’t stop there and established a production unit in Los Angeles called All3Media America in 2012. In 2013, the company won the title of the best independent media producer in the UK. The following year, Discovery and Liberty Global entered into an agreement to acquire All3Media as a joint venture for $930 million. It included the condition that the company could remain autonomous with its own management team. At the same time, it got the opportunity to expand its influence and activities in the international market.
To expand its drama production, All3Media Limited acquired film, TV and theatre production company Neal Street Productions in 2015 and New Pictures in 2016. The same year, Gordon Ramsay launched a joint venture with All3Media Limited called Studio Ramsay. The media holding committed to supporting the creation and production of Studio’s unscripted shows.
In 2018, All3Media Limited’s initiatives expanded to the launch of the Woodland Park Productions company and in 2019, they also established Angelica Films. The following year, the company launched the scripted label West Road Pictures, which set the goal of creating high-quality drama series for a global audience. In 2022, the media group decided to merge its subsidiaries Maverick Television and Objective Media Group to create an entertainment production company Objective Media Group Scotland. In 2024, the new owner of All3Media Limited became American investment firm RedBird IMI, acquiring it from Warner Bros. Discovery and Liberty Global for £1.15 billion.
